Overview

The Yuma Private Industry Council (YPIC) is a private non-profit organization whose purpose is to align and develop a comprehensive high quality workforce system through collaboration with its workforce and education partners.

Incorporated in 1988, YPIC serves as the Private Sector partner in the Public/Private Workforce Development Partnership with the Yuma County Board of Supervisors. The Yuma County Board of Supervisors appoints the Local Workforce Development Board (LWDB) which is housed in the organizational framework of YPIC. The Board of Supervisors appoints members to the Workforce Development Board by selecting representatives from all areas of the public, private and non-profit sectors.

The LWDB provides strategic and operational oversight in collaboration with key mandated partners and the Arizona @ Work network. It strives to ensure that identified benchmarks are met or exceeded in alignment with its vision of an integrated, aligned, and effective job driven workforce development system.
